This is my first time submitting to fyeahtattoos, so I’m really excited! I got two tattoos in a single session (I’ll likely submit the other one soon, too) at Tony Powers Designs in Brainerd, Minnesota. This one is around my left ankle, and it’s the eight lunar phases connected by a series of small lines. I like astrology a lot, and my ruling planet is the moon (I’m a Cancer on the cusp of Gemini). This and my other tattoo are reminders of the cyclic nature of life — that it is transient and grounded in nature. My dad also spent a lot of time with me in my childhood showing me the constellations and explaining astronomical concepts to me, so in a lot of ways, this is a tribute to him, as well.
