my mermaid tattoo right after I had it done
done at Talon Tattoo in Boise Idaho by Emily
Hands damp like seaweed while he twists my legs
And I am trembling as my toes brush his
My fingers are in his hair.
But it’s not like before, caught in a fisherman’s catch and he
Wants my flesh to sell at half price in heat of the late afternoon
I smell of dead rotten things.
With the smile stitched into its head
Shining scales of Turkish blue
I’m like new again.
That is beautiful!
Shouldn’t the first question be “how do mermaids have sex”?
When she was little, she would ask her father “Will you draw me a mermaid?” And her father, to get a rise out of her, would reverse the mermaid concept by giving a fish the lady legs.

My newest piece, drawn by me (Nicole Lauren) and inked by Bubba of the Four Horsemen in San Antonio TX.
I have six tattoos and this one honestly means the most to me. It’s a painting called Abysses Sleep by Fursy Teyssier, and is also the cover art for an album that changed my life. The album is called écailles de lune by the band Alcest, and that album moved me in such a way that no album has ever done before. It took me to a new world, a fantasy world at that, it helps me escape the chaos of life and gives me a chance to breathe a little. This album and this art means more to me than anyone could ever know.
This is amazing.
